Fishing spot

Yesterday was laundry day and a great day for a ride. Once the laundry was done and our tummies and fuel tank were full we went for a nice ride. We were in search of a lake to do some fishing. It was such a lovely day for a ride and it felt good to be out doing something besides sitting in front of the tv or computer or doing household chores.

It wasn't too far out but it was really tucked away where we found Mittry Lake. The road sign for the lake was so funny, but so Yuma........

After turning on the road to the lake, it was still quite a drive to find the lake. The GPS didn't even know where it actually was. Once there we were quite impressed with the area. There was a nice boat landing, picnic area, a bathroom structure, ample parking for cars, trucks and rv's. No overnight camping though. There were man made peninsulas where you could stand and fish. Which is what I like to do. No boats for me, I couldn't get in one anymore if I tried.

The lake was a good size with all kinds of channels to go through. Making fishing a lot of fun and more area's to try your luck at catching the elusive "big one".

There was a man there that was very kind and helpful with sharing his experience and a bit about fishing on this lake. He was from California and came here to fish so he didn't have to pay $5 to fish. LOL, it cost him more than that to drive here to Yuma.

In the parking lot we saw three vehicles with plates from Minnesota. They were from the partiers in the picnic area. A few others from AZ and other states as well.

All in all, a very nice place to try our luck at catching fish and enjoying a past time that we both like.
